This year at the 2018 RSA Conference, Microsoft made a huge announcement in terms of security with the introduction of Azure Sphere, a highly-secure micro-controller platform for internet-connected devices. Right now, we understand how our device security functions on our desktops and mobile devices, but what about our smart TVs, our WiFi-enabled kitchen devices, or other intelligently connected devices. Microsoft Azure Sphere has been developed to meet that need for manufacturers of connected devices.
Dev-kits launched in June and we expect that devices integrated with Sphere will be on the shelves before the end of 2018. Watch and learn more about Microsoft Azure Sphere:
This past month, Microsoft also released their first update to the software, which includes a new real-time internal clock for Sphere, along with mutable storage, Bluetooth WiFi setup and other software improvements. You can read all about Sphere on the Microsoft blog, and also get update details on the Azure updates page.
