New Signature experts have the ability to take your IT solutions from conception, planning and strategy, through a solution build and implementation and then help you operate that solution with optimization and proper administration over time. When we look at the Azure platform’s management best practices, there are three main areas that businesses must review to ensure that their environment is optimized: Infrastructure monitoring, management and backup. Over the course of the next few weeks, I will work to break down how each of these three infrastructure actions helps to keep your Azure environment protected and optimized. Monitoring Although often looked at as a low priority, monitoring is essential for the availability of an IT platform and to ensure that essential business services, data and systems are guarded against potential threats. In the last year, Microsoft has announced a range of new monitoring and analytics capabilities that create a unified curated overview of both applications and infrastructure. That being said, the landscape is still rapidly changing, and quintessential tools like SCOM are starting to be challenged by some of these new capabilities – Application Insights, OMS Log Analytics, for example. New Signature always takes a mixed, and assertive, approach based on the customer needs. In some of the projects, we go as far as to integrate all the tools that are available (Azure Monitor, OMS, Azure Security Center (ASC), SCOM, SCCM, Application Insights, …). This will allow us to address all the monitoring, compliance and alerting requirements. As an exercise into your unique situation, let’s do a self-check. Ask yourself these questions to determine if your technologies are primed, secured and optimized to perform at their peak: Have you monitored your environment for performance, availability and security threats today? Did you patch your servers with the necessary security updates this month? Did you check for malware threats today? Have you developed a report for system health improvements this month? Do you have a holistic view of your Azure platform? In this changing and evolving technology landscape, New Signature can help you address your concerns and ensure that your IT environment is in the best shape, along with making expert suggestions about your business future.
