Every year, more and more women enter in to the field of technology, but it’s not always easy to follow the dream of innovation from a third-world location. The International Association of Microsoft Channel Partners – Canada (IAMCP) is committed to helping spread the love of innovation across the globe, and New Signature is proud to support their Women in Technology program by sponsoring one young Haitian woman in need of a scholarship.
New Signature is committed to remaining human in an overwhelmingly technological world, and to also encourage and cultivate innovation in our communities and create avenues toward technological dreams for those who struggle to gain access.
The Harvest for Humanity, a registered Canadian charity, helps to identify deserving women for the program, and Neissa’s story stood out to New Signature:
Neissa has a strong desire to obtain an education despite the difficulties that lie in her path. She has a dream of studying abroad and a determination to make it happen. While her four older sisters see marriage as their ticket to better circumstances, Neissa dreams instead of owning her own business and inspiring those around her the way she has been inspired.
While Neissa admits that there is currently much she cannot control in her life — the negative attitudes of her family, the availability of food and money to attend school — she recognizes that through technology she still has the power to learn and make plans for her success in the future. Once she has completed her education, she intends to help others too; her dedication to paying it forward is yet another way in which she is special.
New Signature employees are working toward providing for Neissa, and you can, too, by contributing to her GoFundMe account. You can also visit the accompanying websites to learn more about the IAMCP Women in Technology Program, as well as New Signature’s core values.
