New Signature and its employees from the Greater Southeast region joined together to help support the annual Swim Across America – Atlanta weekend-long event to help raise money for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta’s Pediatric oncology unit. The event raised over $500K for research into childhood cancer, over $100K over last year’s amount raised.
On Thursday evening, New Signature promoted and participated in the inaugural Olympic Welcome Party that raised, on its own, over $7500, and hosted several Olympians as special guests to meet and greet with the families of children who are benefitting from the generous fundraiser.
Friday evening, a fundraising dinner was sponsored by New Signature at Lake Lanier, prior to the Saturday main event, the Open Water Swim, also in Lake Lanier.
Established in 2013, the SAA – Atlanta swim has donated over $1 million to the Swim Across America Lab at the Aflac Cancer & Blood Disorders Center at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. For every dollar SAA raises, the beneficiaries have been able to secure three or more dollars in new funding they might otherwise have not received, and 100% of the SAA grant is applied to the approved clinical trial or research project, not other things such overhead and buildings.
