Congratulations to our very own co-founder and President, David Geevaratne on being named the 2015 Minority Business Leader Awards Honoree by the Washington Business Journal.
The Washington Business Journal recognizes the top minority business owners and leaders in the region. This award specifically focuses on the “entrepreneurial drive, creativity and success of the honorees.” On Thursday, February 19th 2015, David will be honored along with his fellow leaders with a cocktail reception and Awards Ceremony that will “honor the 25 most successful men and women in the region” will take place at the Ritz-Carlton Washington, D.C.
David was chosen as an award honoree out a strong field of nominees due to his stellar work ethic, his unending desire to deliver outstanding customer experiences and his ability to not only lead a growing company but to also give back to the community at large.
As a D.C. metro native, David has been committed to growing a local business with global reach and to be a great community partner as well. Even during challenging economic times David has held true to this mandate ensuring that New Signature’s commitment did not waver. For example, during 2009 and 2010 when New Signature was financially challenged by the market downturn David insisted that New Signature not curtail its commitment to pro-bono activities for community partners, hiring of at-risk youth from programs like Year Up, or continuing to provide in-kind donations to organizations like Street Sense and Crisis Link.
Under his sales and marketing leadership, New Signature has profitably grown revenues for more than 11 years, earning Inc. 5000 honors in 2011, 2012, 2013, and 2014. In 2012, David was named to CRN’s “30 in Their Thirties” List which recognizes the “new generation who will put their own stamp on the [IT] industry as technology keeps reinventing us all.”
David is a brilliant leader and technologist. New Signature is quite proud of his most recent accomplishment of being name 2015 Minority Business Leader Honoree and we can’t wait to see what he does next!
