Barrel of Jobs has won the Interactive Media Awards Best in Class Award for excellence in the design, development and implementation in the Recruiting category.
Barrel of Jobs connects employers with better hires, faster, by providing small businesses with an online social platform that crowd-sources the task of locating an ideal job candidate. By using Barrel of Jobs as part of their recruiting strategies, small businesses access a large, untapped “silent majority” of passive jobs seekers, expand the geographic reach of their search, increase the size and quality of their applicant pool, leverage the wisdom of the crowd, expand and supercharge the reach of their employee referral program, and increase diversity of applicants–all while decreasing search time and cost.
New Signature is proud to have worked with Barrel of Jobs to conceive, design and build this award winning website application. New Signature implemented the website using the Ruby on Rails web application framework and applied an agile software development methodology to the project. This approach allowed for quick iteration and reduced development timelines, allowing for rapid product development that delivered robust features and an amazing user experience.
The Best in Class award is the highest honor bestowed by the Interactive Media Awards. It represents the very best in planning, execution and overall professionalism. In order to win this award level, Barrel of Jobs successfully passed through IMAs comprehensive judging process, achieving very high marks in each of their judging criteria – an achievement only a fraction of sites in the IMA competition earn each year. The judging consists of various criteria, including design, usability, innovation in technical features, standards compliance and content.
