Every day, New Signature experts help to enable our clients and their businesses to do more, achieve more and dream more. Internally, we hope the same for our employees. We want to see them succeed and feel empowered.

We also recognize the difficulty that women and other minority genders have experienced in the technology career field. We see that struggle and are committed to correcting it and empowering our organization to achieve no less than complete gender equality as part of our culture.

As we approach International Women’s Day, we want to highlight our commitment to women and gender minorities at New Signature and the technology world as a whole.  We want New Signature to be a place where everyone feels educated, empowered and supported, and we work in several ways to support women and gender minorities on their career journeys.

International Women’s Day 2020

This month, we are partnering with Women in Technology Network to be present at the 2020 International Women’s Day conference in Toronto, Ontario on March 5, acting as a Leader Level Sponsor to support the celebration of women around the world, in our communities and in the technology industry that emanate the power of believe, achieve and celebrate.

In engaging in this sponsorship, we are able to provide every new Signature employee—male and female—with a Women in Technology membership, providing them with educational, networking and career opportunities for girls and women who are interested in and working in the technology field. In addition, we are able to send 16 of our employees to this conference and provide them with the opportunity to learn more about equality in technology.

As an organization, we are also proud that this year we have developed an employee resource group that revolves around gender equality. Our group GET IT –which stands for Gender Equality Tactics and Inclusion Team—is an all-volunteer group that has a mission to educate our employees about equality and inclusion, as well as spearhead initiatives to help empower all genders and ensure proper inclusion best practices across our global teams.

GET IT brings awareness to topics like implicit bias, microaggressions, proper inclusion etiquette and works to ensure business practices are inclusive to gender minorities.

This year, the International Women’s Day campaign theme is #EachforEqual, which focuses on how we are all responsible for our thoughts and actions and how we each can be champions for equality. We can challenge stereotypes, fight bias (both our own and those of others), broaden perceptions, improve situations and celebrate the achievements of women.

We understand that gender equality is not just a women’s issue. It’s also a human issue and a business issue. New Signature is proud of its employees and celebrates what makes it a great place to work, and also what makes each one of us unique. We support the notion of collective individualism because we know that every small part we play to combat ignorance and gender discrimination will come together to create ripples of collective change that will affect our business, our industry and our world. And at New Signature, we know that as individuals we can each choose equality and that—together– we are so much more than the sum of our parts.

We asked our employees what they think about #EachforEqual. You can see their thoughts on this campaign topic by visiting our LinkedIn and Twitter pages.
